Halloween Rock Candy Chocolate Cake – Best Cheap Easy & Fast Party Dessert Food

  1. Let your butter sit out for awhile to soften. Beat the butter until soft and creamy in your mixer. Add in shortening, beat again.
  2. Add vanilla and mix well. Add in the powdered sugar about a cup at a time. Add in milk 1 TBS at a time until you’ve got your desired consistency.
  3. Add green food coloring 1 drop at a time & mix well, repeat until reach your desired color

To garnish:

  1. Frost sides and tops of both 8-inch and 6-inch tiers, then center and place the 6-inch tier on top of the 8-inch tier. Border both cake edges with small black gum balls, chocolates, or jelly beans.
  2. Place rock candy sticks in a large resealable plastic bag, and crush candy loose from the sticks with a rolling pin. Begin placing candy rock pieces around the cake, starting with the biggest pieces on bottom and using smaller pieces as you move up, as shown. Finish with black candies and plastic spider rings.
