2. Egg Yolk Hair Thickening Shampoo [for thin hair]

Egg yolk contains lecithin, which is an emulsifier. It works to emulsify the oil with water, which is then rinsed out. So basically egg cuts through the grease and dirt and will make your hair squeaky clean.

The egg is also naturally pH balanced. This quality is so important if you want to keep your scalp healthy and free from fungus and other microbes.

Plus, the egg is rich in Vitamin A, D, B12, folate, zinc, iron, protein and essential fatty acids. These nutrients give your hair extra boost to grow strong and healthy.

  • 1 egg yolk*

4. Green Tea Stimulating Shampoo

Green tea is an awesome hair growth promoter. Thanks to its long list of powerful antioxidants (such as caffeine, tannins, catechin, and proanthocyanidins).

These antioxidants get rid of free radicals that can cause hair loss and thinning. Free radicals are a natural by-product of cell metabolism, so you can’t avoid its formation.

Plus, the antioxidants, particularly caffeine and catechins, stimulate hair follicles and encourage growth. Few studies show its benefit in treating hair loss.

Green tea can also help with scalp conditions like dandruff and psoriasis.

  • 1/2 cup of green tea
  • 1/2 cup castile soap* (buy this one)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 5 drop peppermint essential oil (optional, adds tingly feel)
  • 5 drops lavender essential oil (optional, balances scalp oils, great for all hair types)

To make this shampoo, we will use half cup green tea and save the remaining to condition hair.
In a mug/jar place ½ cup green tea and other ingredients and give it a good stir. It’s done.

Wet your hair. Pour the green tea shampoo slowly. You can use a squeeze bottle for easy pouring. Massage gently on your scalp and hair and rinse thoroughly.

This step is optional: use the remaining green tea (and a dash of lime juice) as a last rinse to condition hair and add shine.
